Karen Milsom BHSc (Hons) MSc MRCOT

Karen is a retired Clinical Specialist and Occupational Therapist. Karen now works between her own private practice and a local hospice as a Complementary Therapist. During her career Karen has also worked across the NHS and Independent sectors as an Occupational Therapist.

Previously, Karen worked for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for over 12 years helping to create and support Hearing Dog Partnerships. Karen worked at Hearing Dogs Cliffe site near Selby, The Beatrice Wright Centre in Bielby and The Grange at Saunderton.

Karen studied Canine Behaviour and Training at Bishop Burton College and started her career with the charity as Deputy Centre Manager and went on to become Dog Training Manager and National Partnership Manager.

In 2015 Karen qualified as an Occupational Therapist from York St John University and set up the Additional Needs Team within the charity. In 2017 Karen obtained her Master of Science degree in Health Leadership and Innovation.

Specialising in Palliative Care and supporting patients with life limiting conditions, Karen works with patients to improve their quality of life and wellbeing.

Karen lives in East Yorkshire with her husband who has hearing loss and their rescue dog Llewie.
