TV STARS PAY A VISIT TO CHARITY’S NEW RESTAURANT IN BUCKS
Actresses Pauline Quirke and Pam St. Clement had lunch at The Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop in Saunderton, which was opened to the public last week by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Two well-known actresses – Pauline Quirke, a household name for her roles in Birds of a Feather and Broadchurch, and Pam St. Clement, best known as EastEnders’ Pat Butcher – have visited the Buckinghamshire site of deaf charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People to try out its new restaurant, which opened this week.
The Grange Restaurant mixes colourful and fresh cuisine with traditional British favourites and is located at The Grange in Saunderton, near Princes Risborough. Every penny of profit from The Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop goes to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which trains dogs that change the lives of deaf people.
The Grange is a family-friendly, dog-friendly and highly accessible restaurant for those with deafness or hearing loss and those without. Nestled in the Chiltern Hills, the restaurant is spacious, bright, elegant yet relaxed, and has been designed with acoustics and accessibility in mind, with state of the art design to enhance customers’ listening experience while dining.
Speaking of their visit, Pauline Quirke said: “I am a keen supporter of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and, as I live in Buckinghamshire, I wanted to visit the new restaurant and gift shop to show my support for the great work the charity does. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and I was really impressed with the design of the venue itself – I’ll definitely be back.”
Pam St. Clements said: “I have been a supporter of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for many years and have always been impressed by how much the charity does to change the lives of deaf people across the country. That is why I was delighted to become an Ambassador for them.
“The Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop is a great way for the charity to raise further awareness of what it does, particularly in the local area and I really enjoyed my visit.
I was extremely impressed with the delicious food and the variety of dishes on the menu. Also, the relaxed atmosphere, the facilities for those with hearing loss and the beautiful location all combine to make for a delightful outing. I’d recommend people in the area pay a visit - I may see you there!”
The Grange Restaurant serves food during the day, with plans to extend to early evening service later this summer and offers a delicious and healthy menu of fresh dishes prepared by a team of experienced chefs – from the unique to old favourites.
The Grange features a gift shop where visitors will find a range of original gifts, and a dedicated Hearing Hub, run by Hearing Link, which offers useful products, information and advice for visitors on how to better manage their hearing. Every penny of profit from The Grange Restaurant and Gift Shop supports Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s life-changing work, helping people embrace life whatever their level of hearing.
