Arthur goes on holiday
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Arthur's been on holiday with his fab Volunteer Puppy Trainers!
Before we continue however, let's take a look at how he's grown...
He's really 'dog shaped' nowadays! We're thrilled that he still has that magnificent colouring (dogs' coats can change quite a lot from when they were very young), and especially those fabulous eyebrows of his.
So, the holiday. Arthur 'helped' sort the clothes out for packing...
Then it was a fun car journey, and before you know it, everything's set up.
Just time for a little snooze...
... then it's off for adventures!
We always knew Arthur was a little adventurer, so he enjoyed himself pretending to be a fierce jungle animal, albeit a very cute, cuddly one.
He loved hiding in the grass...
... and looking ferocious (in his mind) among the ferns...
... and having a good old snuffle when he came across interesting smells.
Liz and her daughter Hannah then went for a refreshing walk near the seafront, at which point Arthur suddenly went a bit shy, it would seem.
Then it was fun on the beach!
Come on Arthur, let's go and look at the sea...
Arthur then proceeded just to look at the sea. He was fascinated by it, but didn't actually go in.
Dogs are funny when they visit the beach. Some run right into the water, thrashing around in it and having a whale (pun intended) of a time. Others aren't so sure, but like it eventually. Others run in, then immediately out again. Others, like Arthur, just sit there, mesmerised as the waves wash in... then out... then in... then out...
Later, Arthur gets his very own camping chair.
Finally, back home again, and it's time for Arthur to 'help' again by sorting out the washing.
This is what we love about our volunteers. They give so much of their time and love, bringing up our dogs to be happy, healthy hearing dogs. Sometimes, if they go to places that might not be suitable for the puppies they're looking after, for example maybe a holiday abroad that the puppy might find disruptive, then there are always other volunteers who are very happy to look after them back at home. They're a wonderful, supportive family of amazing people, and we simply could not function without them.
So, Arthur had a fab holiday with Liz, John and Hannah. In fact, you could even say it was...
... blooming marvellous!
Thank you for sponsoring Arthur!
