Garden fun with Bella
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Bella has plenty of fun in the garden - mainly with the puppy play tunnel.
She started off by giving it a bit of an inspection. What does it smell like? Maybe also taste like? It's very colourful, and long, and perhaps she could go into it...
So close! And yet so far. If ony the other end of the tunnel wasn't blocked. Still clever Bella worked out that she could just come back out the same way she went in.
And she's through! That didn't take long.
Play tunnels like this are often used in agility training, and whereas Bella doesn't need this, she does need stimulation. All puppies (and humans) do - it's part of growing up and exploring the world. Playtime also helps to form a bond between puppy and human which, for Bella and her future deaf partner, will be extremely important.
As you can clearly tell, Bella is thrilled that she's figured out the tunnel, so much that she decides to make off with it.
OK, so she's decided she really likes the play tunnel, enough in fact to start to want to move it. It's hers now, after all!
In addition to the tunnel, Bella has her favourite hoop, ball, and, erm, cardboard box! Or, at least, bits of it, scattered everywhere.
And what garden would be complete with a paddling pool - full of toys!
That was all outdoors, but Bella has plenty of toys to amuse herself with indoors too. She even likes to lie in the toy box, surrounded by them all.
Out and about now. Bella visits plenty of places so that she has new experiences, all at her own pace (which is fairly fast, as you've seen above). By doing this, she's learning that the world is a fun, friendly place, and will be confident wherever her future deaf partner might want to go.
For example, in a tree...?
Definitely a candidate for Tongue Out Tuesday there!
And finally, should Bella ever meet a Gruffalo in future, it will be no problem whatsoever for her. Been there, done that.
As you can see, Bella is loving life, with plenty of fun to be had, outdoors or indoors. This is thanks to you, for your kindness in supporting her. So again, from all of us at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People... thank you for sponsoring Bella!
