Bertie is a cuddly helper

Bertie loves to help!
He loves helping in the garden – you could even say he has ‘green paws’.
He likes running around on the grass, just to make sure it’s nice and flat, you see. He’s happy rolling among the flowers, to check for weeds, obviously. But his favourite garden activity is re-potting plants, even if they didn’t need re-potting. How helpful!
He’s also helpful indoors, especially during laundry time. The most helpful thing he does is to take dirty socks and distribute them considerately around the house, maybe under the sofa, or on the bed. How kind!
His Volunteer Puppy Trainers Nathalie and Alex adore him. “He’s very friendly as well as funny,” they tell us. “He’s already started making his introductions with some of the other local dogs. He’s also forging a new friendship with our pet cat.”
And what else does he love, apart from gardens, laundry and cats? “A cuddle and a belly rub, of course!”
Bertie is so full of fun, and friendliness, with a bit of mischief thrown in. One day this cuddly helper really will help a deaf person to leave loneliness behind, while giving them hours of entertainment along the way. Until then, he’s going to give you and everyone at Hearing Dogs hours of entertainment along the way!
It’s very early days for little Bertie but he’s already showing a lot of promise. “He’s very clever,” Nathalie says. Alex adds: “We can tell already that his intelligence and eagerness to please are going to stand him in very good stead for his training. All he needs to do right now is stay calm around food!”
Which deaf person will Bertie help to reconnect with friends, with family, with the community around them… with life? We don't know yet, because he's at the start of an amazing journey, thanks to your kindness. So, from all of us, thank you for sponsoring Bertie!
