Bertie: Full of life and love
Posted by Brendan Cooper
We recently took a look back at Bertie's journey to date, and we noticed three things in particular: he's a very active soul, and has been since he was a little puppy; however, he's also really good at snoozing, anywhere; and he does like to stick his tongue out.
First, active Bertie.
Even during his first few days with his Volunteer Puppy Trainers, it became clear that Bertie had plenty of energy.
This was whether helping out in the garden...
... or running across it (and yes, they only just managed to get him in this shot).
As they were able to take him further afield, he proved that the sea was no match for his sense of adventure.
And then he really took off!
All our puppies enjoy a spot of agility training. It's a great way for them to keep fit, bond with their volunteers... and just have fun! Bertie was great at all of those aspects, especially the fun bit, and showed it very plainly through his ears.
As he grew, even tree stumps bent to his will.
But Bertie wouldn't be Bertie if we didn't show you his less active side. You see, he's great at finding places to sleep.
He does, of course, have his own bed, we want to make this clear. It's a lovely bed, all warm and fluffy and clean.
Still, little Bertie managed to go to sleep in the grass...
... on paving stones...
... and as he grew, became very good at 'advanced random sleeping', pretty much anywhere and everywhere the fancy took him really.
Finally, did we mention tongues?
We surely did!
Whether wrapped in a duvet, or on top of the world in the Chilterns, Bertie shows his pleasure through a big, wet, happy tongue.
Even when on that tree trunk!
Did we say finally? Not quite. No retrospective Puppy Pen would be complete without at least one shot of a very boopable nose.
It's so boopable! Bertie Boop!
And that's Bertie for you - full of beans, full of love, and full of happiness. He's wonderful, and we all adore him.
That's all for now. Until next time, thank you again for sponsoring Bertie!
