When Charlie met Belle

Posted by Brendan Cooper

It's Charlie time!

First up, let's admire how handsome he is nowadays.

He's looking suitably aloof, off-camera, maybe thinking about his future as an amazing hearing dog!

He also does a good dramatic pose.

But he can also be a bit of a clown!

Peek-a-boo Charlie! Look at his little face!

Charlie is great friends with Belle, the pet of his Volunteer Puppy Trainer Sam. She tells us: "Charlie loves my dog Belle. They really look out for each other when out on park runs."

Let's take a look shall we?

We see what she means! OK, maybe that's a hill run rather than a park run, but they're clearly having a wonderful time together.

Here they are just enjoying each other's company.

They look good together, don't you think? Sort of the same size and shape, but different. That's what all the best friends are like!

They're also clearly really happy together. We truly believe dogs smile, and these are definitely smiling dogs.

Charlie seems to do a good line in tongue-out shots. Perhaps he'd be good for Tongue Out Tuesday?

Charlie and Belle share everything, including water. Here they are having a bit of a splish...

... and a splash. Dogs find water fascinating, and it seems Belle and Charlie are no exception.

We've noticed that Charlie especially loves water in many forms.

After all that running around, splashing in water, having fun with Belle, it's time for a snooze.

Or sometimes, if Charlie doesn't quite make it to his bed, the floor will do!

You deserve a little nap there Charlie. You've had a lot of fun, and you're loving life.

Charlie's doing so well, and this is through your kindness in supporting him. As you can see, he's having a great time, growing up to be a happy, healthy, confident dog, able to play nicely with people and puppies.

One day he'll transform a deaf person's life, and help them to reconnect with the world around them. We really hope to be able to bring you some great news about that soon. Until then... thank you for sponsoring Charlie!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
