Food, friends, toys and TV

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Cookie's life is one that revolves around training, food, friends, toys and TV. We tell you all about her training in your full updates, but here's a sneak peek at the other three passions in her life.

Food

Cookie, like most dogs, does love her food. However, she's very good at waiting for it. This is something we teach all dogs, and it's called 'impulse control' - they know that they will get a treat if they just wait. They don't need to beg or fuss, it'll all come in time.

So, here's Cookie waiting until her volunteer puppy socialiser Annette lets her start eating...

And here's Cookie eating! She seems to have pulled the food bowl closer to her to get a better look in there.

Friends

Cookie has plenty of friends, of the doggy and human variety. Here we see a little human friend, wondering what to make of Cookie's cosy den. Our dogs are brought up from an early age to enjoy a bit of 'me time' in these dens - sometimes their volunteer puppy socialisers put blankets over them so they really can just take a bit of time to relax.

Teddy Lion

Cookie's favourite time is spent with her toy, called ‘Teddy Lion’. Annette explains: “She loves keeping Teddy Lion company at all times. This means that Teddy Lion has been through the wars a bit, because Cookie thinks it’s fun to pull all the stuffing out.”

TV

All our dogs enjoy a spot of television, although we try not to let them get a bit too obsessed by it. As you can see, Cookie loves watching other dogs. Perhaps she's jealous? Or maybe she's just glad she's not on one of those vet programmes? You decide!

It would be lovely to know what you think of Cookie - just write a comment below and tell us!

Thank you so much for sponsoring her.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
