Daisy is a mummy's girl!

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Daisy, Daisy… was named after her mum!

Here's Daisy mummy with Daisy daughter, and all her little brothers and sisters. This is how it all started!

Daisy is the little one to the left. She was the smallest in her litter. As you can see, small but perfectly formed!

Her size led our breeding team to describe her as ‘wonderfully pocket-sized’!

We'd like to say she was fresh as a little Daisy, but she spent plenting of her early puppyhood feeling sleepy.

She loved sleeping in a puppy pile, often at the bottom.

At her first weigh in, she was the same weight as two bags of sugar. Awwwwww! Much sweeter though, obviously.

It didn't take long for Daisy to grow in size, strength and curiosity.

She still liked to relax though - sometimes on her own...

... and sometimes with puppy pals.

She’s just as cuddly as mum. All puppies love cuddles, of course, but Daisy really, really loves them, like mummy Daisy did when she was a puppy.

She snuggles into you and, if you let her, she’ll have a little puppy-doze there too, all soft and snoozy.

She’s growing, although she's still small and perfectly formed. However, she more than makes up for her small stature with her big personality. She will happily trot around with confidence, tail up, nosing around to find out what’s what.

Now that she’s living with a Volunteer Puppy Trainer, she’s about to start an amazing training journey, helping a deaf person to leave loneliness behind. But all journeys start somewhere, and within fifteen minutes of meeting Daisy, her volunteer described her as ‘a beautiful fidget with a feisty temperament’. It’s clearly the start of a beautiful friendship…

Since starting to live with them, she can almost reach a chair.

And enjoys chewing cardboard - well, who wouldn't?

It’s very early Daisy… sorry, start again… it’s very early days, but we think Daisy has a great future. Her cuddliness might be the key: she’ll soon learn that, if she does the ‘right’ thing in training, cuddles and tummy-rubs will come her way. She combines the sensitivity of a Cocker Spaniel with the intelligence of a Poodle, and we love her for it.

One day she will help a deaf person to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life. Now however, she's a cute little puppy, whom you're helping through her training journey. Thank you for sponsoring Daisy!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
