Elvis: A study in white

Posted by Brendan Cooper

We're working hard on your next full Elvis update. As we explained in your previous update, his match didn't quite work out. These things sometimes happen, and so we're very hopeful that we've found a new match, and will send out a new update to go with soon.

In the meantime we thought you might like to see more photos of him! Most of our photos show our puppies in lovely lush green fields, or exciting woodland, or splashing around in water. However, we also take photos of them against white, and we think they're quite classy. So, here's a study of Elvis growing up against white.

You might recognise the photo below: it was on the letter in your welcome pack, with Elvis 'looking up' at the words. It's such a lovely photo, we couldn't resist including it here too...

What we didn't show you was that Elvis really was looking up at something during that photoshoot! He took a good long look at... something on the ceiling. No, we didn't know what it was either but it fascinated him!

Dogs grow up surprisingly quickly, and Elvis shot up during his first few months. Here's the next photoshoot of him against white - and he's looking much more like an adult dog than a puppy already.

He still has that adorable Elvis look about him though, and his fur is still very soft and puppy-like. By all accounts he still behaved like a little puppy too back then. At around the same time, Elvis attended a wedding, and the local photographer took some great shots of him. We don't think you've seen this one before. It shows off his Elvis quiff beautifully.

OK, so it's not strictly against white, but it's black and white, and that's close enough!

Elvis continued to grow, and started looking quite distinguished...

So much so that he would on occasion sit down to look more regal!

And also quite liked to tuck his tail in, just so he was extra neat and tidy.

Is the photo below another cheat? Again, not strictly against white, but it's against snow, and snow is white! This was taken by his lovely volunteer puppy socialisers, Joyce and Norman, who brought him up so well.

And finally, Elvis looking magnificent in his 'I'm learning to be a hearing dog' burgundy coat. He looks really proud of himself, don't you think?

Elvis has every right to feel proud, because he's come a very long way. You should be proud too, for helping him get this far. Fingers crossed his new match works out, and then we'll tell you all about it. Thank you for sponsoring him!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
