Elvis continues to love life with Joyce and Norman

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Elvis has now started to learn how to alert people to sounds, which we call 'soundwork'. He's also part of our Volunteer Dog Training scheme, in which our pups stay with their socialisers, who play a significant part in their soundwork, guided by one of our trainers. This means that his socialisers Joyce and Norman get to look after Elvis for a bit longer while they help train him!

We will tell you all about this in your next printed update, but for now, here are some more snaps taken by Joyce and Norman, which we hope you will enjoy.

Elvis enjoys a bit of snow. He cuts quite a dashing figure against the white. As we're in spring we should be looking forward to summer, but you never can tell what the weather's going to do in the Chilterns!

Below, he's in two minds about whether or not to jump in with both (or all four?) feet. Or, perhaps, judging by the state of his fur, he's already done that, and has just jumped out? What do you think? Tell us in the comments section below!

Here, he seems to be in two minds again. One dog, nine ducks, two minds!

Still having fun by the lake, but this time Elvis seems to have forgotten the ducks and decided to enjoy a spot of fishing with friends.

Elvis makes friends wherever he goes. Here are some more of Joyce and Norman's friends, all looking happy together.

It's important that our pups spend plenty of time meeting new faces because that's what they'll be doing when they help deaf people. Elvis seems quite content taking it all in his stride.

That's all for now! Until next time, thank you so much for sponsoring Elvis!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
