Elvis loves life with his volunteer puppy socialisers

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Elvis is living with volunteer puppy socialisers Joyce and Norman. It's their 'job' - if that's the right word - to make sure Elvis has a great time in his first year. They also give him basic training and introduce him to the world so he grows up happy and healthy.

When Elvis came to live with them, they had their own dog called Molly. She and Elvis became instant friends, and loved sleeping together, as you can see below.

They also went everywhere together as if they were attached by an elastic band - sometimes, almost literally. We're not sure who's leading who below, but we're fairly certain Molly would have the final say!

Elvis is their first sponsor pup. Molly was quite old when they decided to volunteer, so they wanted to know if they could have a dog but not permanently. They met someone with a hearing dog wearing its burgundy jacket, and realised puppy socialising might be for them.

Very sadly, Molly has since passed away. So now, Elvis sleeps alone...

But he still looks like he's having fun. Here he is below, Elvis Himselvis, with his amazing whiskers and eyebrows.

Thank you so much for sponsoring Elvis. We really appreciate your help, and Elvis does too! Why not ask him a question below, or even ask Joyce and Norman, and you never know, they might even reply!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
