Forrest is gently inquisitive, or mildly curious

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Forrest is a lovely little Labrador, placid and gentle, and always up for a cuddle.

He’s gently inquisitive, or mildly curious.

Turn around and you’ll see him, softly padding behind you on his big black paws, just wanting to be around you.

No fuss, no worry. That’s our Forrest.

It’s not that he doesn’t express himself. He absolutely loves splashing around in the paddling pool, especially when it’s warm. He’ll start running around in a circle when he thinks there’s a tasty treat coming his way.

Even when he’s sleeping, he’ll let you know what’s on his mind with plenty of little puppy snuffles.

Forrest is definitely a thinking dog’s puppy. He’s curious, but he won’t make a move straight away. He will sit, watch with his head tilted to one side, and learn before getting involved.

We think his patient, placid personality will help him become a brilliant hearing dog one day. Until then, he’s a lovely, cuddly Labrador puppy whom nobody can resist.

Forrest’s mum is Nellie, who was also a sponsor pup! From one generation of sponsor pups to the next!

Forrest is a bright little boy. He’s already learning his ‘sits’ and ‘downs’.

This is in no small part because he loves treats. All Labradors love food! The more treats he gets, the more he learns.

But a part of Forrest’s mind will always be on the bigger picture: he can learn, and learn well, but will always be contemplating the world around him.

Here are some more photos of him enjoying life...

Forrest is such a lovely little Lab, just starting out on his journey. From all of us at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, thank you for sponsoring him!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
