Forrest in winter

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Spring is sprung!

Actually, it hasn't. We're just around the corner from spring (or is it just around the corner from us?) and as the weather makes its mind up about being cold, mild or freezing, Forrest is learning more about the world: specifically, Christmas trees, TV and snow.

First up, Christmas trees. We're all just about over Christmas now, but we couldn't resist sharing this shot of Forrest next to the tree, especially as the look on his face seems to be saying "OK, I've had enough of looking cute now, can I have some food?"

We're sure he got some food, because he's a Labrador, and they'll turn themselves inside out for tasty treats. Fortunately, the key to a Labrador's stomach is also the key to training a great hearing dog, because it's all about rewards, as we explain elsewhere on our website and in your main updates.

There's only one thing better than food, and that's TV and food...

It looks to us like Forrest is watching another black Lab on TV! He's definitely much better behaved, and much more grown up, obviously.

Finally, a bit of snow. Actually, a lot of snow, and our Forrest looking excited and very, very black against it.

Forrest is having a lovely time with his volunteer puppy socialiser Caroline. We'll tell you all about how he's doing with training in his next main update. Until then, thank you so much for sponsoring him!

Brendan Cooper

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
