Let's catch up with Fudge

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Fabulous Fudge is having fun with a furry friend!

Looks like a lovely life!

The truth is... Fudge really is having a lovely life. She has possibly the happiest face we've ever seen on a dog.

We believe dogs smile, and Fudge is definitely smiling!

This is because she's been so very well looked after, thanks to your kindness. She recently spent time with a trainer called Jay during holiday cover, and Jay explains what went on...

"Since coming to us on holiday cover, we've all been on holiday together too! She came to Wales, to a fabulously dog friendly place with all the other dogs she's been staying with (including her mum) and also fellow Hearing Dogs pup in training, Labrador Hattie."

Here she is looking happy again, with all her family and friends around her.

She continued to smile throughout the day!

Back to Jay: "As well as fun on the beach...

... she has been on a walk in a forest, which she loved."

As you can see - more smiling!

Jay is so impressed. "Fudge has been amazing - settling in with our busy household and adapting so well to another new home. She's a super adaptable little girl full of confidence in all the places we have been to!

"She has also practiced settling in cafes and pubs and has been very good."

Cue a fantastic settle...

This is actually a very important skill. Fudge has learned that, in a public place such as a restaurant, she should just keep herself to herself - no need to bother anyone, just relaaaaaaax. This means her future deaf partner will be able to take her into these places, knowing she'll be a very well-behaved puppy and make them extremely proud.

As you can see, Fudge is great at settling - and that's official, because Jay says so.

Back to Jay: "She loves everyone she meets, loves to meet and play with new dogs and is very affectionate overall."

That would account for the video then. Just a friendly, happy dog whom everyone adores.

And finally: "We've loved having her and will miss her when she moves on to a new socialiser!"

Awwww. We completely understand. Who couldn't miss that happy Fudge face?

So, let's leave Fudge to have a bit of a puppy snooze for now, after such an exciting time.

We hope you've enjoyed this latest catch-up with Fudge. Don't forget, she's come this far because of your kindness. So, until next time, thank you for sponsoring Fudge!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
