Fudge the explorer!
Posted by Elizabeth Murphy
Welcome back to Fudge’s Puppy Pen!
When Fudge isn’t busy training, it is important that she has lots of ‘free time’ to have fun just being a dog! One of her favourite activities is exploring on walks in the woods.
"We’re off on an adventure!"
Look how much fun she is having!
Fudge particularly loves the woods as there are so many exciting sights, smells and textures to explore.
Walks are also a brilliant opportunity to meet fellow fluffy friends. Regularly meeting other dogs is a great opportunity for Fudge to develop her social skills and practise interacting nicely. This is great practice for when she is on a walk with her future deaf partner.
On one recent walk, Fudge even made friends with another puppy called Fudge…
When Fudge met Fudge!
Double the Fudge, double the sweetness!
Sometimes during a walk, Fudge’s volunteer puppy trainer, Monica, likes to set up little games for Fudge along the way. In the video below, you will see Fudge sniffing out the tasty kibble that Monica has hidden around the boulders…
As well as being a very fun game, this activity is also a great source of mental enrichment for Fudge, as it encourages her to use her clever sense of smell to sniff out the tasty treats, helping to keep her mind active and engaged.
What a happy little pup!
It is so lovely to see how much fun Fudge is having in her training and in her 'free time'. We are so excited to see what fabulous Fudge gets up to next.
Until next time, from all of us at Hearing Dogs, thank you for sponsoring Fudge.
