George already feels at home
Posted by Brendan Cooper
George has been exploring his new home!
For his first year, George is living with Volunteer Puppy Trainers, called Paula and Sean. They've welcomed him into their home, and will give him training, treats and lots of love over the coming months.
So, he's explored the garden already and look, he even has his own sofa!
Another toy now. A carrot. Not an actual carrot, but a nice big, soft carrot toy to chew on.
Here he is, on his sofa again, enjoying his carrot.
That reminds us:
Q. What's orange and sounds like a parrot?
A. A carrot!
Sorry...
No wonder he's a happy chappy!
Another toy now - or, at least, a box, which is a sort of toy.
George climbed on it...
... then opened it...
... then got into it...
... and found...
... more toys!
Lots of them!
All different colours too!
Enough of toys. How about games?
Our puppies love being stimulated and having fun. It's actually very important: it's how they build confidence, by finding out new experiences and realising that they're to be enjoyed.
So, by giving George some treats hidden in a toy, he gets to expend a bit of energy, have fun, and then eat some treats! This also helps build the bond between George, Sean and Paula.
Here's another toy with treats hidden inside. What fun!
After all that, George is definitely due some downtime. With yet another toy. On his very own sofa, naturally.
So, as you can see, George isn't lacking for stimulation or entertainment!
Let's admire how cute he is with - yes, you guessed it - another toy.
And after all that excitement, he's due a bit of a puppy snooze.
Sweet dreams Gorgeous George!
He's loving life at the start of his training journey, and this is thanks to your kindness. So, until next time, from all of us at Hearing Dogs, thank you for sponsoring George!
