Gordon is blooming
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Let's start with a video again!
That video shows how well Gordon has been brought up. He understands that a hoover isn't something to be afraid of, or to play with. It's just part of daily life, and the only bothersome thing about hoovers is that they might postpone a puppy snooze.
Don't worry, Gordon did manage a snooze eventually. And look how clean the carpet is!
More training now - Gordon showing off how well he can settle.
It's a really important skill, and no matter how often we show it, it's still amazing.
Gordon will need to know that, in some busy places such as restaurants, cafes, libraries and so on, he should just settle down and keep himself to himself. Assistance dogs have the privilege of being able to visit these places with their partners, so it just wouldn't do if Gordon continued to be curious, as if he were on a walk, sniffing around everywhere or trying to make friends with people.
So, he's been trained to just sit down and have a bit of time out. Every time he does this, he gets a treat for being a good boy. Maybe that's why he looks so happy doing it!
See what we mean? There's a treat coming your way Gordon, and maybe a fuss, and a 'Good boy'. What a lovely life.
Gordon has also been having fun (not that training isn't fun, with all those treats). Here he is with his pal Sally, who is Vicki's own dog. They're so different in so many ways, but they adore each other.
What a lovely image to come home to!
They even sunbathe together.
Finally, a return to the training. Now that restrictions have been lifted, Gordon can visit all sorts of places such as garden centres, and again, learn that they're absolutely fine, no problem, he can just enjoy the view, assuming he likes a view of large plant pots.
You could even say he's blossoming.
We hope you enjoyed this latest insight into Gordon's life. He's happy and healthy and loving life, thanks to your kindness. Until next time, once again, thank you for sponsoring Gordon!
