Gordon's great!
Posted by Brendan Cooper
We started Gordon's previous Puppy Pen with a video, so let's do the same this time around!
... and around, and around, and around...
No, we don't know exactly which one's Gordon either. That's what happens when you get loads of lovely Labs together - plus the odd Retriever and Cocker Spaniel. It gets quite difficult to know who is who. Also, Gordon is no longer 'the little one'! He's grown. My, how he's grown...
Behind (or, rather, underneath) Gordon is Nancy, one of Vicki's daughters, who adores Gordon and takes extra special care of him. As a puppy, he loved to sit on her lap and go to sleep. Now, he's just about able to clamber onto her, and there certainly isn't any snooze room any more.
Also, remember how much he loved his big food bowl? Well, it doesn't seem quite as big any more!
We're fairly sure that Gordon used to be able actually to fit inside that bowl when he first came to live with Vicki. Now, he can just about squeeze his paws in there.
However, some things about Gorgeous Gordon are still the same. That's what we love about our puppies: they have some traits that never leave them, which is what makes them such wonderful, playful companions.
First up, he still has a very, very boopable nose.
We don't know whether his nose has in fact been 'booped' yet, but it's surely only a matter of time. It's just so 'out there', asking to be given a gentle 'boop'!
Gordon also still enjoys generally getting moist/damp/wet/soaked/drenched whenever possible. Here you can see other family members very bravely playing with him in the garden while the heavens opened. Such dedication!
Let's leave this Pupdate with a shot of how happy Gordon looks (yes, we do think that's him this time, in the centre of the frame). Dogs smile, and Gordon is clearly smiling here.
And clearly smiling here too! As are all his pals!
This is wonderful to see. Happy dogs make for happy people, and one day Gordon will make his deaf partner happy too. That's what hearing dogs do: they look after their deaf partners practically, by alerting them to sounds with a nose nudge (and what a nose nudge Gordon will give, with that eminently boopable nose of his); and they also look after them emotionally, by being their constant canine companion, entertaining them, loving them, and keeping them company day and night.
As you can tell, Gordon is such a character. He's going to be a wonderful hearing dog some day. He's loving life, and he will pass this love on to everyone he meets.
And that's Gordon for another Pupdate! We hope you enjoyed seeing how he's doing - and growing - and you're as proud of him as we are. He's brilliant, and your kindness has made him this way. So, until next time, thank you for sponsoring Gordon!
