Gordon is a sleepy snoozy softy

Gordon loves sleeping. Anywhere. Everywhere.

When we asked his Volunteer Puppy Trainer Vicki, she told us: “Gordon’s favourite place to sleep is underneath the sofa. However, now he’s started growing, he lies in front of it and sticks just his head underneath instead. It’s so funny!”

And where else does he like to sleep? “Pretty much anywhere. My four teenage daughters love sitting on the floor so he can crawl onto their laps for a snooze.”

With four teenage daughters, that’s plenty of snooze-space for Gordon! What a lucky puppy!

It’s not all sleep, sleep, sleep though. Gordon does actually wake up occasionally, especially when it’s mealtimes. Back to Vicki: “Gordon has a very clever way of reminding you that it is mealtime. He brings his food bowl over to you while sporting a big smile and a very waggy tail.”

So, he loves sleeping and he loves eating. But Gordon isn’t sure about stairs. Vicki explains: “Gordon first thought stairs looked very exciting, so went bounding up with great enthusiasm, but he couldn’t figure out how to get back down. Needless to say we rescued him and carried him downstairs, and he’s fine with them now.”

Gordon is so lucky, growing up with such a loving family. It’s the best start possible for such a Labradorable puppy. One day, he’ll transform a deaf person’s life by helping them to leave loneliness behind – and it all starts with a little puppy, supported along his training journey by kind people like you.

Given that Gordon loves his treats (of course – he’s a Lab), training is going really well already. Vicki is so proud: “Gordon picks up new things very quickly and remembers what he has been taught. He responds really well to children as well as adults.”

So, it’s looking great for Gordon!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
