A fun day out with Grace

Welcome back to the Puppy Pen! It’s time to catch up with Grace, your gorgeous sponsor puppy.
Grace is flying through her training and she seems to be enjoying every minute with her volunteer puppy trainer Jo.
Look how brilliantly Grace is sitting and focusing on Jo at this puppy class…
Grace is working hard towards her Puppy Two Star Award, which focuses on learning to be calm and comfortable visiting busy places. It seems that Grace quite enjoys all the different outings!
Grace especially loves going shopping…
Whether she’s at the supermarket or a clothes shop, Grace takes it all in her stride!
We want Grace to be happy and relaxed visiting the shops, so that she can confidently accompany her future deaf partner when they want to go shopping. Through reward-based training, Grace will receive yummy treats every time she visits the shops, so she will gradually start to associate shopping as a fun and positive experience.
Shopping complete and now it’s time for a break! Look how well Grace settles in this café…
We are so impressed with Grace’s focus. There is even another dog barking in the background which Grace just calmly ignores. She is very happy to settle down and relax on her mat. What a superstar!
After a busy day of shopping, it’s time to get the bus home…
Once again, Grace is showing how wonderfully calm and focused she is. Grace has only recently been introduced to public transport and she already looks like a seasoned commuter!
Back home now and it’s time to relax and unwind for the evening with Grace’s favourite toy…

She really is amazing with her incredible focus and her ability to be calm and comfortable in all different surroundings. This is an incredible skill which Grace will use every day with her future deaf partner.
