Hebe's had a haircut!

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Hebe continues to enjoy life with her volunteer puppy socialiser Annette!

Says Annette: "Hebe has had her first haircut. Her topknot was getting too long so it had to go. Her body fur is still puppy coat so that will remain till it falls out and shows her adult coat."

Here you can see Hebe's haircut in progress. She seems very relaxed about it. You can certainly see how long her fur was getting! We'll show you how she looks post-haircut in future updates.

Annette describes more life with Hebe: "We have a big pond with a grill about 1 inch below the water surface to make it safe. Hebe has found out that she can walk on the grid to get the fish food floating on the surface. She watched a magpie who does the same – She thinks that if a daft bird can do it, so can I!"

Here's Hebe by the pond, not actually walking on water but certainly thinking about it.

Anything else? "She still has her teenage mad-as-a-hatter moments, usually chasing round the garden at non-existing dogs. She’s been out to visit the garden centres and has seen Father Christmas and all the twinkling lights. She enjoys watching the television especially when the animals are on. She seems to like cows best and looks round the side of the tele when they go out of camera shot.

"Hebe really takes everything in her stride. She isn’t at all afraid of big dogs – Newfoundlands, St Bernards and Greyhounds are her favourite ones. The little dogs are a source of interest as well. She is quite an intelligent little dog, very very friendly and loving and has never shown any aggression in her life."

Finally, here's another shot of Hebe not showing any aggression...

Until her next update - thank you so much for sponsoring her!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
