Have hearing dog, will travel

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Honey and her trainer Heather have had plenty of adventures together - on land and water!

First, land. Part of Honey's training involves being happy on any form of transport, and you can see her here settling patiently on a train.

It's exactly what we want to see - no fuss or bother, just happy to watch life go by.

In fact, Honey is so laid-back about travel that she falls asleep! Talk about 'settling'!

Here's a random picture Heather took of Honey looking dramatic, which we've included for absolutely no reason other than we really like it.

Anyway, back to the topic of travel. One of Heather's friends has a boat, so she saw that as an opportunity both to extend Honey's training, and to get some more fantastic photos at the same time!

She emerged from below...

... and then took control, very much Captain Honey.

And finally, another photo we're adding simply because we like it. It's a little known fact that actually Heather didn't take this one, Honey did, while chewing a crunch carrot. She's so talented!

You can tell that they're having a great time together. Thanks for your support in helping Heather train Honey to change the life of a deaf person...

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
