Happy holiday Hope!

Posted by Brendan Cooper

It's Hope time again!

She's been on holiday with her Volunteer Puppy Trainers Barry and Liz. "We went to the Lake District," Liz tells us. "Unfortunately the weather was terrible, with torrential rain."

Well, that's our famous British weather for you. Barry adds: "As a consequence we have a nautical theme, with Hope assisting with the boat on Lake Windermere, and a visit to an aquarium."

That's fine! So, without further ado, here's Captain Hope helping pilot the boat.

And here she is enjoying the aquarium.

Did you notice how confident she was on the boat? And how her focus was on Liz in the aquarium? She's becoming a really self-assured little dog, for whom new experiences are no problem, and who places the person she's with very much front and centre. This will make her a superb hearing dog.

Barry also helped her enjoy the experience with a reassuring rub every now and then.

But she also took a bit of time out to help navigate.

Hope also showed how well she can settle - just taking it easy, no need to fuss, just watch the world go by.

She even managed to grab some sun!

After all that, Liz showed her off looking very sleek, which Hope seemed to find hilarious...

... but then she suddenly went all shy.

We hope you enjoyed this latest insight into Hope's life! We certainly enjoyed putting it together, as always. Let's finish this one with a really lovely photo of her, looking every inch a hearing dog in waiting.

Fabulous.

So, again as always, thank you so very much for supporting Hope. She's doing so well, and this is through your kindness. We're really proud of her, and we hope you are too. Thank you for sponsoring Hope!

It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
