Hunter makes friends

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Hunter continues to live with Clare, his volunteer puppy socialiser, and is meeting new people and making new friends!

First up, this is Hunter with Ollie - who did the voice-over for Hunter's sponsor video. So, Ollie is Hunter's 'voice', in a way. It was lovely to see them meet up at last. You can see how wide Ollie's smile is, and Hunter has a quietly pleased look on his face too.

Next, Casper. We've introduced Casper before. He's another sponsor pup, this time sponsored by a company, and he's also living with Clare. Two black Labs! They're like bookends...!

Next, Hudson. Being Hunter's brother, he's not strictly a friend - but brothers can be friends, can't they? Even if they're completely different colours! Isn't it strange how two dogs from the same litter can be such different colours? We love the photo below, it really seems to pick up the light from the water and show two excited brothers about to have a (slightly wet) adventure.

Next... a tree? Is this really a friend? We're stretching the definition here. Hunter is definitely interested in it though. There must be a fascinating smell up there. A squirrel perhaps?

As well as making friends, Hunter's time is also taken up learning to be a hearing dog, and to prove it, here he is wearing his 'I'm learning to be a hearing dog' burgundy coat. This was his first ever bus journey and he did really well, just sat patiently and enjoyed the ride.

And finally, a photo of Hunter that we just love. What is he thinking, as he looks up at the sky? Comment below and tell us!

Thank you for sponsoring Hunter!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
