So many Labs, so little time...

Posted by Brendan Cooper

In your last update, we showed you how handsome Hunter was becoming. Well, here's another photo showing off his glossy coat and proud Labrador features.

He cuts quite a figure doesn't he? He's quite good at staring into the distance, perhaps contemplating his future as a hearing dog, helping a deaf person reconnect with the community around them. He'll do this by helping them practically, telling them about sounds they should know about such as the doorbell and mobile phone text alert. As importantly, this magnificent dog will also be a deaf person's constant canine companion. Deaf recipients often tell us that people stop them to ask about their hearing dogs, and with such a fine looking dog as Hunter, we're sure whoever he's eventually matched with will have plenty to talk about!

In your previous update we also introduced you to Hunter's new friend, called Cooper. We found this photo of them to add to the collection, below.

Again, Hunter's looking moodily off-screen, a bit like a 1940s Hollywood movie star. Cooper is too! Perhaps he's learning off Hunter...?

They've been up to plenty together since your last update. The photo below shows how Hunter's volunteer socialiser is helping him and Cooper both learn more about the world around them - and the world around them would appear to involve ducks and swans of various shapes and sizes.

This time they're definitely not looking past the camera! It's all eyes on those funny objects floating and quacking on the water!

And finally, a wonderful photo showing Hunter with several black Labrador pals. We honestly don't know which one is Hunter! What do you think? Let us know below.

So many Labs, so little time...!

We hope you enjoyed this latest slice of life with Hunter. As always, thank you for sponsoring him!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
