Labradorable Ivy is bold, bright and bubbly

Welcome to your Puppy Pen! And thank you for sponsoring Ivy!

“From the word go, Ivy has been extremely confident and bold.”

This is what Heather, Ivy’s Volunteer Puppy Trainer, says about Ivy. She adds: “Very quickly she settled herself in as part of the family, even winning our own dog Charlie over enough for him to share his bed with her on only her second day!”

Charlie and Ivy already adore each other. Guy, Ivy’s husband and the other member of ‘Team Ivy’, agrees: “Her ‘puppy love’ of Charlie is simply captivating. He plainly loves her too.”

Together, Heather and Guy (and Charlie!) are giving Ivy the very best start in life – to be a happy, healthy puppy, to grow and become a hearing dog, then completely change a deaf person’s life.

She’s got everything: she’s bold, bright and bubbly, cute, confident and cuddly, and she even has some adorable quirks. Heather explains: “Ivy loves to sleep under things – under the table, under your chair, under the desk, under the cupboard, under your feet, under your arm in your lap, under her blanket but most of all, Ivy loves to sleep with Charlie in his bed!” Thank goodness that’s with Charlie, not under him!

This ‘Sassy Lassy’ is so inquisitive: she’ll have a good look at anything new, circle round it, have a sniff, poke it with her paw maybe and then see if it wants to play with her, be it a twig, a broom, a chair, a coat, her brush, a pot, anything. As she grows in stature, so she’ll continue to grow in confidence, and start to make bigger puppy strides towards her goal of becoming an amazing hearing dog.

Heather is so proud: “Each new training task that she is given, Ivy approaches with enthusiasm and determination to succeed. She’s already great at waiting for meals, sitting by her bowl.” What, a Labrador? Waiting for meals? Wonders will never cease! Ivy clearly has a great future ahead, and it starts with the kindness of people like you.

And did we mention, she looks absolutely stunning against white...

... and black...?

One day, Lola will change a deaf person's life forever. Today however, from all of us... thank you so much for sponsoring her.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
