Josie is a friendly fun-seeker
Posted by Brendan Cooper
“Josie is super-friendly with my family - with everyone. She seems to especially like my young grandchildren.”
So says Lyn, the volunteer who is looking after little Josie. It would seem that Josie makes a very strong impression on everyone she meets!
Yes, Josie just about loves everyone, and wants a fuss from anyone who will give it to her – human or animal! That’s because she just about loves every dog too, and enjoys a bit of fun and a run-around, ears everywhere, as only Cocker Spaniels can.
Josie just about loves every child too. As Lyn says: “She really does adore my grandchildren. She is so very gentle with them. If there are children and adults around she always makes a beeline for children first.”
And when she’s made that beeline, she wants to play! She enjoys running around in the garden, adores hide-and-seek, delights in her toys, and encourages all around her to have fun. Well, she is a cute puppy after all, and when you’re a cute puppy, that’s what life is all about, right?
Back to Lyn: “She’s been like this from day one. She just came in, made herself at home, and we’ve been entertained ever since. She’s so confident and affectionate. She loves snuggling up of an evening. We adore her.”
Everyone adores Josie, and she adores them right back. She’s everything a hearing dog puppy should be, and more. One day, she will help a deaf person to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life. For now however, she’s a friendly fun-seeker!
Josie is fabulous at getting along with everyone, and this really helps with training. She loves just being around people, and will do anything for them, so new skills are picked up very quickly. She’s already great at ‘sit’ and ‘wait’. Given that our training is based around play and rewards, and Josie loves playing and being rewarded, well, it’s all perfect really!
And she even looks lovely in black and white...
Josie is at the beginning of an amazing journey which, with your help, will end with her helping a deaf person to leave loneliness behind. We are so grateful. Thank you for sponsoring Josie!
