Let's find out more about Josie
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Time for more Josie!
Let's take a quick look back to when she was very young indeed.
Here she is with mum Rose, and all her brothers and sisters.
What an assortment! They're all black and white, but some of them are, well, black and white while others are white and black!
Josie's brothers are called Jake, Joe, James, Julian, Jez and Jay, and she has just one sister, called Jessica.
That's right - we name our litters after the alphabet, so Josie was part of the 'J' litter. It's a bit like weather forecasters naming storms, only much more cuddly and cute.
Please don't ask us which is which because we don't know!
Josie is a mostly white puppy, so take your pick from above and you have a one-in-five chance of being right!
For Josie's first year, she's living with Lyn, a Volunteer Puppy Trainer who will introduce Josie to the world, while training her to be a happy, well-behaved little girl. Here's what Lyn has to say about Josie...
"From day one Josie has been super-confident and friendly, and would cuddle up with us of an evening.
"On her first day I let her out in the garden and she chased around, exploring and running in and out of the flower beds, she was so confident. She was also very cute!"
"For the first 2 weeks I slept in the same room as Josie, so she did not feel alone. She went to bed at 11pm and settled down to sleep and only woke once at 4am to be let out in the garden. Now she sleeps throughout the night.
Later, after a session running around the garden, we found her asleep in our utility room with her nose in an old garden shoe."
All together now: "Awwwwwwwww!"
There's nothing cuter than a snoozing puppy. Especially when it's a puppy that is smaller than her food box.
She certainly won't go hungry!
Josie also won't get bored. Lyn is doing a great job of keeping her stimulated, which is especially important during lockdowns and social distancing. As you can see below, she's provided Josie with lots of fun toys, plus a cardboard box to keep them all in (and to sit in, obviously).
She's at the very beginning of an amazing journey, which will end with Josie graduating as hearing dog, and helping a deaf person who might, right now, be feeling lost and lonely. We're really looking forward to telling you all about her life and times as she grows - and we hope you're looking forward to all this too! As her sponsor, you will be making all this possible.
So, from all of us, thank you so very much for sponsoring Josie!
