Lovely Lola

Hello and welcome back to Lola’s Puppy Pen!
Lovely Lola is still loving life. She is learning lots of new skills that will one day prepare her to be a life-changing hearing dog. Right now, Lola is focusing on how to be a confident and well-behaved puppy.
We are very excited to tell you that Lola has passed her Puppy Two Star Award. Hooray!
We’ll tell you more about this in Lola’s next official training update, but for now, we thought you would enjoy seeing Lola looking very proud of herself with her Puppy Two Star certificate…
What a clever pup
So, what else has Lola been up to?
Well, recently she attended her first ever agility training class. Here she is looking ready to take on all the obstacles…
These classes are a brilliant way for Lola to become familiar with unusual objects, whilst also building her confidence and focus around other dogs and people. This will help to prepare Lola for when she is ‘out and about’ with her future deaf partner where she will experience all sorts of real-life distractions.
Agility training is also a perfect balance of mental and physical enrichment. On the one hand, it is great exercise for Lola as she gets to enjoy running fast and jumping high over obstacles. On the other hand, she also has to think, listen and follow cues. This is an excellent combination of skills that will really help Lola in the rest of her hearing dog training.
Oh, and it's also lots of fun! Here is Lola zooming through the tunnel...
Wow… Lola is speedy!
Back home from agility training and it’s time for some more fun.
Here is Lola with her good friend Orbit, who has come round to play!
Off for a walk now and it looks like Lola and Orbit have been joined by another four-legged furry friend!
Learning to be happy and relaxed in the company of other dogs is all part of Lola’s training to become a confident hearing dog. Lola will continue to develop this skill as she moves through her training, where she will gradually be introduced to different pets and animals.
All this playing and exercise makes for a sleepy pup so it’s now time for a nap.
Lola and Orbit look very comfy indeed…
What a cute pair of pups!
In fact, these two seem to be quite the double act. They even left a nice message for a family member who was going out to see Abba Voyage…
How thoughtful!
We thought we would end this Puppy Pen Episode with a photo that made us laugh a lot.
It turns out that Lola is a selfie queen! Here she is posing with volunteer puppy trainer, Sacha…
Those facial expressions are just brilliant.
That’s it for now. We hope you’ve enjoyed catching up with Lola and all her fun adventures. She is doing wonderfully well in her training and we are all so proud of her progress.
Keep an eye out for her next training update!
From everyone at Hearing Dogs, thank you for sponsoring the lovely Lola.
