Lola's exciting day out

Posted by Elizabeth Murphy

Welcome back to Lola’s Puppy Pen!

When Lola is a hearing dog superstar, she will accompany her future deaf partner to busy public places such as supermarkets and tourist attractions. An important part of Lola’s hearing dog training is making sure that she feels happy and comfortable in these environments. To help with this training, Lola’s volunteer puppy trainer, Linda, recently took Lola on an exciting day out!

First up, it was a visit to The Horse Trust, which is a lovely home for retired and rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys.

Lola was very well-behaved, calm, and polite around her new animal friends…

As well as behaving calmly around other animals, Lola also demonstrated how happy and confident she feels in a public place, filled with lots of other visitors.

Onto another tourist attraction now! Lola popped by to visit Hughenden Manor, which is a beautiful National Trust site.

Lola was very excited to be allowed inside the Manor House and learn some historical facts...

… and once again, Lola was on her very best behaviour!

For the final stop of the day, Linda took Lola to a DIY shop. Here they are walking down the paint aisle…

There are so many colours to choose from!

Lola enjoyed a lovely walk around the shop and kept her focus on Linda, despite the many intriguing items on the shelves.

What a perfect customer!

Visiting public places, such as the shops, is likely to be a regular activity for Lola with her future deaf partner, so it is brilliant she is so comfortable with the experience.

That is all for today. Lola is doing wonderfully in her training and she would not have made it this far without your generous support.

So, from everyone at Hearing Dogs, thank you for sponsoring Lola.
