Little Lola loves life

Posted by Brendan Cooper

It's time for more Lovely Lola!

Here's what she's been up to recently...

She's certainly enjoying life!

It's amazing how puppies grow, especially Labradors.

Here she is - VERY little Lola, at one week!

Her mum was a very different colour, as you can make out in the paw above, and the shot below.

At three weeks she was definitely more puppy-shaped.

And by five weeks, she was taking much more notice of the world around her.

Now, she's loving life with her new volunteer family! Not least, Oscar, who is volunteer Claire's own pet dog. He's currently huge compared to Lola, but we wonder how long it'll be before she's at least a similar size, if not bigger?

One thing's for certain: she's going to grow quickly if she eats like this regularly.

Being a Labrador, Lola is very, very, very, very, very keen on food. As you can see, everyone tries their best to make her sit first, but, well, it doesn't quite work this time around (although apparently she did it yesterday!)

Never mind, she's still very young and we can let her get away with it once or twice. We're confident however that she'll soon be very patient, and will eat with a bit more decorum - like Oscar, the pet dog in the background who just takes life very easy.

But then again, she might just burn it all off by playing all the time.

She also has fun with toys in the kitchen, where it's a nice clear run. This is all part of Lola learning how to bond with people, and to play nicely. It's an important part of growing up to be a well-behaved girl, who will one day keep her deaf partner entertained by being lovely.

So, Lola is having a great time. Here she is, dreaming of the time she'll grow up and become an amazing hearing dog, changing a deaf person's life...

... but in the meantime, she's just enjoying cuddles and being cute!

That's all for now. Until next time, thank you for sponsoring Lola!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
