Marnie: Boldly going where no puppy has been before

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Marnie is a beautiful, black, bold Cockapoo.

When we asked Marnie’s mum’s owner what she was like as a very little puppy, she said “Definitely the boldest of the three in her litter.” When we asked her volunteer puppy socialisers how they’d describe her, they said “She really has a very bold character.”

So, everyone’s in agreement: she’s bold! And happy, as you can see below.

She’s certainly a plucky little girl. She seems to have no fear. From sleeping soundly throughout her first night with her volunteer socialisers, to running around in their garden, she knows no bounds – literally, as people chase after her to keep her out, or keep her in!

You see, she just won’t stay still. We had quite a fun time trying to get her to stop running around during the photoshoot. These are really the only shots we could use. Even in these, she was thinking about running off somewhere.

She’s full of life, a real pocket rocket, boldly going where no pup has been before. We love her for it – and one day, when she helps a deaf person regain their confidence and reconnect with life, they will love her for it too.

Here are some more photos of adorable Marnie - unusually, standing still! Even in these shots, you can tell, she's just getting ready to run...

From all of us at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People - thank you for sponsoring Marnie!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
