More Marnie!
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Marnie is growing up to be a fun, loving little girl! Let's start with a lovely photo of how she looks now, with her volunteer puppy socialiser Maggie...
That photo was taken during one of our Great British Dog Walks, in a local setting called Hughenden. We're so fortunate to have amazing people like Maggie looking after our dogs, in such fantastic surroundings for our puppies to be, well, puppies!
So, how are they getting along together? "She is the most affectionate loving little dog and everywhere we go people make a fuss of her," Maggie tells us. "This is including the local lollipop man who gives her a small biscuit whenever we pass him.
"Marnie comes everywhere with me including to church and to square dancing where she curls up under a chair and sleeps through the music and dancing feet rushing past her. She has been into so many cafés now, she loves going into them."
This is great. Marnie needs to be happy wherever Maggie goes, and the fact she's happy in such different environments - whether in a quiet church, snoozing while people dance, or enjoying the atmosphere of a coffee house - shows she has a great temperament for being a hearing dog.
One thing we might not have told you is that Marnie lives right next door to her brother Marlin! They love being together, as you can see below.
Don't they look happy? As well as very similar to each other? We're not even really sure which is which!
Back to Maggie: "Marnie is very determined and loves her brother so much she tries to tunnel under the fence that separates the two gardens. Sue (Marlin's volunteer puppy socialiser) and I have had to build barricades to stop the pups getting into each other's gardens as when they are together they get very excited and we have to give them time out to calm down!"
Well, they are puppies after all...!
Here they are either just before, or just after, a spot of running around together...
You might notice a lot of toys in these photos (yes, gloves are toys in Marnie's world). Maggie always make sure Marnie has plenty of toys to hand (or to paw). Here she is with some of them...
... and here she is with one of them...
Just time for two more photos to show you... here's Marnie after her first clip:
She looks quite sleek, don't you think?
And finally, here she is cooling down in some nice cold water during our very hot summer. Perhaps she'll be a bit cooler after the clip too.
And there you have Marnie! She's absolutely full of character and having a great life, learning how to be a happy, healthy puppy, loved by everyone. This is thanks to you, her sponsor. Until next time, thank you for sponsoring Marnie!
