More of Micky, out and about with Peter and Hazel

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Micky is leading a very full, happy, active and varied life with volunteer puppy socialisers Peter and Hazel!

Here's a roll call of places he's been recently: Brighton, Folkestone, Rutland Water in late May, West Runton and Cromer in Norfolk, Sutton Hoo, Lavenham, Milford House, Dedham and Flatford in Suffolk, Brightlingsea, Burnham-on-Crouch and Epping in Essex – all in the last 3 weeks!

"He thoroughly enjoyed every minute, met dozens of people, all of whom are now his best friends", says Peter.

Well, who could resist being his friend? Look at that happy little face!

Micky continues to enjoy being chauffered around in his buggy. Here's Peter looking like he's having as much fun as Micky!

Over to Peter: "He posed for photos at the burial site at Sutton Hoo and with Hazel – he wasn’t too impressed."

We think this is Hazel, although it's hard to tell with that mask on...!

Ah yes, this is definitely Hazel!

Peter tells us more: "At Flatford Mill, the site of Constable's famous painting, he studied the composition, then decided that he would make a better dog than Constable’s and that the painting would be better off without the horse and cart."

Specifically, a dog with its tongue happily out...

... or a dog just reclinling gracefully.

"Since realising that he enjoyed swimming at Folkestone, we can now hardly keep him out of the water. He has his own drinking fountain in our garden and constantly throws his toys in our pond so that he can ‘rescue’ them!"

So, here's cause (notice the tongue again)...

... and effect! We have plenty of pictures of pups looking happy by the sea, but none with their very own drinking fountain. What a lucky little Micky!

Hazel finishes our update: "Micky thinks everyone is his best friend and everyone he meets loves him and wants to take him home. He is very affectionate, playful with children but calm and quiet with toddlers."

In one phrase? "A cheeky adorable bundle of fun."

So there you have Micky, but we also want you to know that Rascal is doing fine too. Rascal  continues to be a cheeky chap, full of fun and energy. He loves the beach (only padding though, he’s not sure about swimming, so there's a difference between him and Micky) and walking in the New Forest. His obedience is very good! We continue to monitor his health closely and have no concerns. So, hurray for Rascal too!

Thank you so much for sponsoring Micky, and we'll keep you updated on Rascal's progress too.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
