Molly: A cuddle-loving bundle of energy

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Molly is coming along well with her additional training, which we told you all about in your last update. We're really pleased to tell you that she's doing very well, progressing along the journey towards changing a deaf person's life.

She's now living with new Bed and Breakfast volunteers called Andrew and Carla. They look after her during weeknights and weekends, dropping her off at our training centre every weekday morning, and then picking her up again each afternoon. It's a bit like picking up the kids from school!

We thought we'd ask them how they're all getting along with Molly, so here we have it, a Molly Q&A!

Q. How does Molly get on with family members, neighbours and any other animals you have?

Carla: Molly loves everyone and loves being made a fuss of by strangers! Her favourite doggy chum is a boxer called Bruno who lives on a farm in West Wycombe and quite often escapes his garden to join us for a walk.

Here she is looking happy out and about on a walk:

Q. How would you describe Molly’s personality?

Andrew: She is very cheeky, loves lots of attentions and cuddles. Also don't leave an open bag anywhere nearby or her nose will be straight in there looking for treats.

Q. How would you sum Molly up in a phrase?

Andrew: A cuddle-loving bundle of energy!

Q. What does Molly enjoy doing most?

Carla: Definitely walks, she will give you a funny look if she doesn't feel she has had enough walks in a day.

Here's that 'funny look':

And here is Molly looking very happy indeed out in the beautiful countryside:

Q. Does Molly have any favourite places to sleep?

Andrew: She loves sleeping on the front door rug, by the back window if it's sunny. We also have a rug for shoes and if there are many shoes on that she'll sleep there too. She'll pretty much sleep anywhere.

Here are two photos of her sleeping, well, anywhere!

Q. Anything else?

Carla: She hates the rain and refuses to even come outside if the ground is wet, she's a bit of diva that way.

Perhaps the grass is wet in this photo? Or is this another 'funny look', do you think?

There you have it! Molly with her 'funny looks', making friends with the locals, avoiding water but embracing walks. We don't think we've had a better description of her than 'a cuddle-loving bundle of energy', so thank you Andrew for that one.

We'll keep you updated on her progress, but until the next time, thank you for sponsoring her!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
