Friendly Oscar

Welcome back to Oscar’s Puppy Pen!
Wakey wakey Oscar, it’s time to catch up with your amazing sponsors!
“Hello, here I am!”
As we know, Oscar’s volunteer puppy trainer, Julie, looks after other animals in her home and Oscar has been having so much fun lately with his fluffy housemates.
Socialising with other animals is a hugely important part of Oscar’s hearing dog training. For instance, when Oscar’s future deaf partner takes him for a walk, we want them to feel confident that Oscar will be polite and friendly towards other animals that they may meet.
We all know how much Oscar loves spending time with lovely Jude, his wise older ‘brother’. Jude has a very gentle and calming nature, so Oscar is in very good hands… or paws!
All smiles!
We also know how much Oscar enjoys the company of Rory, the cat…
How sweet is Rory giving Oscar kisses?
Oscar is also very excited to tell you that he has made a new little friend, called Skye, who is even smaller than him! Oscar’s wonderful volunteer puppy training family have welcomed another young hearing dog pup into their home. Oscar and Skye became best friends very quickly and they adore playing and snoozing together.
We are so impressed with how calm and gentle Oscar is with his new little ‘brother’.
For a little puppy, every day is full of new and exciting experiences. Although Oscar is still a young pup himself, he was very keen to introduce Skye to all he has learnt about the world so far.

Nibbling on a Kong is a fantastic way of keeping Oscar entertained and mentally stimulated throughout the day. It looks like Skye quickly got the hang of it too!
These interactions are all an important part of Oscar’s training to become an amazing hearing dog. Sharing his home with other animals is a great opportunity for Oscar to develop his social skills and confidence. Oscar’s future deaf partner may have pets of their own, so it is wonderful to already see how happy and comfortable Oscar is in the company of his fluffy friends, who are both bigger and smaller than him.
Well done, Oscar! We are all very proud of you.
That’s nearly all for today. We will just leave you with this gorgeous photo of Oscar showing off his very boopable snoot…
BOOP!
We are so grateful for your continued support in Oscar’s training journey.
Until next time, from everyone at Hearing Dogs, thank you so much for sponsoring Oscar.
