Robyn the seadog
Posted by Brendan Cooper
We've known for quite some time that Robyn likes playing with the garden hose. What we didn't know was that she generally seems to love water.
So, let's jump straight in!
She had a short break by the seaside with Volunteer Puppy Trainer Heike, and found out that she really does love the wibbly-wobbly stuff. You can tell by her tail!
So, we've heard of seahorses and seamonkeys, and it would appear Robyn is a seadog!
It's so interesting how our dogs develop. Some like the rain, others hate it. Some like chasing butterflies, others couldn't really care less. Some adore cardboard boxes, others just go a bit 'meh' and wander off. We know of some dogs that really dislike getting their paws wet, but Robyn couldn't get enough of it!
So, she then decided to have a swim in a stream (doggy paddle, of course, there...
... and back).
... and a paddle in a puddle.
Or two.
Or maybe three.
Interestingly, even after getting hot, wet and sandy, Robyn can still look magnificent.
Perhaps, as she's gazing off into the distance, she's contemplating her bright future as a hearing dog, helping a deaf person to leave loneliness behind...?
Robyn also had lovely walks in the wood...
... and tried to take up tennis, but without a tennis racket or even opposable thumbs, she wasn't really kitted out for it.
Still when you look this healthy, happy and glossy, who needs tennis?
This is one of the most wonderful photos we think we've seen of any of our sponsor puppies.
There's something really lovely about it - the way Robyn looks so happy and relaxed, in the grass, with blue skies above and ahead. It really sums up the way all our puppies grow, to be confident in the world, and to know they're loved. Thank you Heike!
Oh, and did we mention, she looks magnificent?
Don't worry though. Robyn may look magnificent, glossy, healthy, happy, all those things... but she can still pull a funny face when she wants to.
Look at that cheeky face! She's so adorable.
One day, Robyn will change a deaf person's life. For now, we hope you're enjoying her online Puppy Pen updates, showing her life with Heike, and the training updates showing how she's doing along her journey. We love telling you about her because she's such a pleasure to be around.
So, until next time, as always, from all of us at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and from Heike, and Robyn... thank you for sponsoring Robyn!
