Romeo has a new friend!

Posted by Brendan Cooper

As we told you in your previous update, Romeo is having a bit more training to help him get used to occasional sounds that startle him. It's just a case of confidence coming with maturity: we have faith in him because he's a super little man.

He's still loving life with Dianne, his Bed and Breakfast volunteer. Here are some photos she's shared of him, and she tells you all about what's going on in Romeo's life nowadays...

First up, Romeo has a new friend!

Dianne explains: "As you can see we currently have a second hearing dog staying with us called Zoe. She is waiting to do her hearing dog exams. Romeo is in love with his new playmate and they are very sweet together."

We agree! They seem so relaxed above. It could be the sun, or it could be that they're just very happy friends. Look at how their front legs cross each other. Awww!

They get up to plenty of activities together too. Here they are with Dianne, doing tricks in a local sculpture park...

... and here they are, together again, having fun on the beach.

Romeo has other (human) friends too! Here he is below with his favourite Auntie Katie. "Katie is my best friend of 20 years", says Dianne. "But she's 'Auntie Katie' to my daughter Maddie, and that's also what we call her to the dogs, and they both adore her. She's a doggy person!"

And finally, a photo that sums up our happy, funny, sunny Romeo - full of energy and life, loving every minute of every day.

Dianne concludes: "It's been a pleasure to have them both here, but Romeo is still entertaining me every day with his cheeky, fun loving, happy ways. He's just a fantastic little chap."

Yes, he really is a fantastic little chap, and we're all looking forward to seeing how his training journey ends. Until the next update, thank you for supporting him.

However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
