Rusty has discovered the joys of mud
Posted by Brendan Cooper
We knew it would happen. Sooner or later. It always does.
Take one clean puppy, ever so well looked after. Introduce it to a friend. Next thing you know, you have two very, very muddy puppies indeed. But they're also happy puppies, so that's ok.
In this case, Rusty met up with more than a friend - his brother Rupert! We use initials to identify our puppy litters, so Rusty and Rupert were part of the 'R' litter, together with their siblings Ralph and Raisin.
Averil, Rusty's Volunteer Puppy Trainer, describes the scene below: "They looked so angelic together, among the bluebells. Rusty is on the left, and Rupert on the right."
They even looked cute against the woodland path at Rushmere, a country park that is very popular for dog walking.
Notice how they're on the same sides again too. Think of Rusty as Ant, and Rupert as Dec.
They were overjoyed to meet each other, and had a good old run-around...
One of them got a bit muddy, as you can see.
They continued to play...
And then, according to Averil, "Rusty led Rupert astray wading through a swampy bog."
"However Rusty had the slight edge, as he had also rolled in sloppy horse poo!"
Maybe Rusty should have been part of the 'M' litter - and called Muddy instead!
Not to worry. Averil made sure he was thoroughly cleaned...
And then, as all puppy stories should, this one ends with Rusty curled up with another pal - Leo, Averil's own 11-year-old Terrier.
We hope you enjoyed this latest Rusty instalment. Until next time, thank you for sponsoring him!
