Sandie is a hoarding hurricane

Welcome to your Sandie Puppy Pen - and thank you so much for sponsoring Sandie!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Sandie hurtling across the kitchen floor and crashing into her food bowl again!
You see, Sandie is a hurricane, according to Alec and Catherine, her Volunteer Puppy Trainers. Alec tells us: “She always ‘helps’ with getting her food ready. Then she spins round with excitement because food’s coming her way. Then she dashes headlong into the kitchen, which is tiled, so she skids towards the bowl and…” well, you can guess the rest.
Actually, the very latest news, hot off the press, is that she’s starting to learn to time her skids a bit better, so perhaps meal times will be less messy soon. Clever Sandie!
Sandie also loves to collect things, so maybe it was a bird after all – a magpie! According to Catherine, “She goes around picking up all her toys and treasures, and they end up on her bed. The ‘treasures’ include our slippers, which she’s incredibly quick at finding.”
So, she’s a bit of a hoarder, and a lot of a hurricane. But Sandie has plenty of other cute puppy traits. She loves to stretch out in sunny, warm patches on the carpet; she enjoys saying hello to people on walks (and be told how beautiful she is); and she adores snuffling around in the garden. All together now: “Awwwww!”
Sandie has already made big strides for a little puppy, and learned her basic cues such as ‘sit’ and ‘wait’. Alec is so proud: “Sandie is very quick on the uptake.” So, fast in mind as well as body, it would seem! Catherine explains why she’s doing so well: “She really likes her food, so rewards for training are a big motivator.” Ah yes, those rewards: a fuss, a belly rub, and plenty of treats. It’s a lovely life for little Sandie!
We're really looking forward to showing you how Sandie progresses through her training. She's a cute, cuddly puppy today, but one day she'll become an amazing hearing dog, and she'll totally transform a deaf person's life.
So, until your next Pupdate, once again, thank you so much for sponsoring Sandie!
