Scout's out-takes and about-takes

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Scout is so photogenic.

When we took her photos, we had so many we didn't know what to do with them! Does she look cuter sitting in leaves...

... or when she's having a cuddle in the sunshine, with her trainer Emma?

We couldn't decide! So these aren't really 'out-takes' as such. They're just the photos that we want to show you here, because we ran out of space everywhere else!

Actually, the two shots below are out-takes. You see, it's very difficult to get a puppy to sit still and have its photo taken, especially one with so much energy as Scout. So, below, you can see how Emma veeeeeeery slowly edges away, having finally managed to get Scout to sit still...

We got about two seconds to take the shot, and next thing you know, Scout wants more cuddles! Cue a huge blank white space to the left of the photo below, where a cute little Cocker Spaniel should be sitting...

Out in the garden now, and Scout shows how cute she looks in a Hearing Dogs coat that is much, much too big for her.

It's amazing to think that she'll grow up to help a deaf person leave loneliness behind. One day, she'll grow into that burgundy coat, which means she'll be able to accompany a deaf person wherever they want to go, plus she'll signal to people that the person she's with is deaf. But, like all hearing dogs, Scout will have to 'earn' the right to wear the coat by completing her training - which is what you're helping her achieve.

Right now however, she's a puppy and does all the things puppies should, such as not looking at the camera...

... and in fact getting so bored that she starts to wander off.

It doesn't really matter though. She's always cute, and thankfully she does occasionally look the right way. We just have to keep taking plenty of photos until we get what we need!

Back to the backgrounds though. Is she cuter against grass, do you think...

... or maybe a classic grey background?

That does sort of match her colouring, doesn't it?

Or how about... green?

Or even a sort of buff colour?

Scout is such a great little dog, charming everyone and already showing how bright she is. We all adore her, and we hope you do too! Until the next Pupdate, thank you so much for sponsoring Scout.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
