Senna, Grace and Jennifer

Senna is now living with new volunteers - Jennifer and her daughter Grace. They're looking after Senna while he starts on a very important stage of his training: learning how to recognise important sounds.

We'll tell you all about the training in your next full update. For now, we thought you'd like to see how Senna's getting along with his new family!

First up, their first photo!

Jennifer tells us about this: "It was taken the day he came to us and is in our garden. His favourite thing to do in the garden is help water the plants! He loves sitting next to me whilst I garden and is great company. Especially in this hot weather he needs encouraging to come inside to cool down. He likes sunbathing a bit too much!"

It's good to know that he's being encouraged not to be such a hot dog. Our volunteers know all about the best way to raise our puppies, and Senna is definitely in good hands.

They've already discovered what Senna likes. Over to Grace: "He loves a frozen Kong and he has been getting plenty of those to keep him cool. He often trots off into the garden to enjoy it in peace."

Grace continues: "It was my 18th birthday recently and we discovered Senna’s love of unwrapping presents. He helped me out with a few of them...

... including his very own gift to me - a paw print imprint!"

Back to Jennifer: "Senna likes playing fetch, really enjoys playing with other dogs and loves going in the river. So when we met up for a walk with a friend's dog (Poppy) at the river to play ball he was in his element!"

"They spent ages playing together and got soaked, as well as getting us wet too. He really enjoys his walks by the river to cool off."

Looks like Senna won that particular competition to fetch the ball.

And finally, a really, really lovely shot of our Senna on his own blanket!

Jennifer proudly tells us all about it: "I got that made for him to use as blanket to settle on in cafes etc. He really likes it! He’s licking his lips as he’s just been given a treat for lying so beautifully whilst I snap away!"

What a lucky Senna! His very own, customised blanket! And it seems to be working, he looks very happy settling on it. Looks like plenty of treats will be coming his way.
