Star loves life with Grace

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Let's jump straight in shall we?

Yes, Star continues to have a lovely life with Grace, her Volunteer Puppy Trainer. Whether it's paddling in the sea or visiting interesting places, Grace has made sure Star always has fun, while learning to become an amazing hearing dog.

Here's an interesting place!

It's the statue of John Keats in Chichester, situated near places featured in his poetry. So, Star is becoming a cultured puppy, as well as a highly trained hearing dog.

More interesting and unusual places now, such as a war memorial, which is huge and makes Star look tiny...

... and a visit to a stately home.

Star was always very well behaved, inside and outside the home.

She navigated the stairs perfectly, all the time at Grace's side.

This is perfect training for Star. One day, she'll help a deaf person wherever they want to go, whether on busy high streets, bustling supermarkets, or simply enjoying a bit of leisure time to visit places together. With Grace's help, she's learning that new experiences are fun, and that the world is a welcoming place.

She even settled very nicely in the cafe - again, just being a very well-behaved puppy, not bothering anyone, happy to keep herself to herself (and have a bit of a snooze).

In fact, she's doing so well, she's forging ahead with her Puppy Star awards. Which one is this? We've put a question mark in to keep you in suspense - we'll tell you in your next training update!

Suffice to say, Star looks very proud and dignified, don't you think?

As well she should be.

Let's round this off with another video of Star being, well, a star!

'Good girl' indeed! We agree!

It's all good for Star, and this is because of your generosity. So, again, until next time, thank you so very much for sponsoring Star!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
