Vesper and her fabulous furry friends
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Vesper has made some fabulous furry friends!
Don't they look magnificent? There's something about a group of black Labs that really catches the eye.
Debbie explains who's who: "From left to right you have Forrest, Flash and Vesper. Forrest and Flash are both Vesper's half brothers from another litter. Here they are having just come out of the river at Cassiobury Park, a lovely estate for taking dogs. Three wet dogs waiting for a treat, although Vesper looks more interested in the camera than the treat!"
Debbie continues: "During the late hot summer months, Flash and Vesper loved cooling off. Although Vesper (left) doesn't look too happy about Flash (right) shaking himself over her."
We love the action shot of Flash's ears!
Time for more water, and more friends. Debbie explains what's going on below: "Being a Labrador Vesper really does love water. We've taken her and Flash to Aqua splash, a swimming pool for dogs, a couple of times. This time their best friend River (also a trainee hearing dog) joined them in the pool. It was River's first time but as you can see he was happy to jump in with Vesper and race her to the ball which had been thrown in."
How about human friends now?
"We have five grandchildren," Debbie proudly tells us. "Vesper loves it when they come to see her. They range from three to twelve years, but she certainly knows how to play appropriately according to their ages. Here she is playing in her favorite river at Cassiobury Park with our 8-year-old grandson Hayden. He decided that playing in the water looked so much fun that he joined her in the water! Vesper is the the one with floppy ear on the left, and her faithful friend Flash is on the right."
Vesper has also been progressing nicely along her training journey. We showed you her first visit to London in your last Pupdate, and since then she's had more visits. Here she is practising her 'settle' on the train. It certainly doesn't seem to bother her.
She even met the Queen (sort of - her London home at least).
Vesper is also maintaining her skills at just walking nicely in public places, not being any bother to anyone. Debbie tells us: "Vesper loves shopping. Here she is walking down the meat aisle pretending she's not interested. I think that's only because it's in packets."
We think she's doing brilliantly, whether the meat's in packets or not!
She's such a good girl, developing in all the right ways, and this is because you have sponsored her. So again, as ever, thank you so much for supporting Vesper!
