Country and garden Victor

Posted by Brendan Cooper

Victor had a lovely Christmas. His Bed and Breakfast volunteer Ian tells us "There was '101 Dalmatians' on the TV and he sat watching it from start to finish. He even barked out loud when dogs and other animals were chasing the baddies."

However, balance in all things is always best, so Victor has also been out and about.

Ian tells us what's going on below: "Victor is watching every bit of garden soil being turned just in case somebody left a buried bone." Any suggestions for what Victor might be thinking here? We're sure Victor thinks he's helping. Or maybe he's decided to supervise.

For the photo below, Ian describes Victor's thinking as "I'm sure I heard a deer going through that patch of undergrowth." Victor certainly looks alert!

Our Bed and Breakfast volunteers live quite close to our training centres in Yorkshire and Buckinghamshire, both of which are surrounded by plenty of beautiful countryside for our pups to enjoy. It's important that our pups have a stable and stimulating life outside their advanced training during the weekdays: they simply learn better when they have that - here's that word again - balance.

Here's a recent shot of Victor taken at our training centre in Buckinghamshire. We included it simply because it sums up what an alert, friendly chap he is.

... as does this one! From nose to tail, definitely a happy, healthy puppy.

We hope you enjoyed this Puppy Pen update (or 'Pupdate' as we're starting to call them). We'll be working on his next printed update soon, so until then... thank you for supporting him.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
