Labradorable Willow is a cheeky, happy little girl

Willow is many things!

She is playful. According to Clare, her Volunteer Puppy Trainer: “She knows what she wants. Most of the time that’s cuddles, playtime or – being a Labrador – food.”

She is cheeky. “She loves taking our shoes, especially my slippers,” says Clare. “She will often fall asleep in them. She looks so cute, all tucked in, issuing little puppy snores and snuffles.”

(It’s OK to say ‘Awwwwwww’ at this point.)

But mostly, Willow is happy!

Back to Clare: “As well as slippers, she’s happy sleeping anywhere really – on the floor, on my feet, even on her own bed sometimes.

“She’s happy meeting anyone, human or canine. She makes a real fuss of visitors, and they make a fuss right back.

“She really enjoys playing with another dog we’re training. She likes stealing his toys (as we said, she’s cheeky), but is very good at giving them back when asked.

“And she’s blissful when watching the birds in the garden, especially the brightly coloured parakeets.”

Slippers, visitors, toys and parakeets, it’s all good for Willow. She’s a lovely Lab, at the start of her training journey, and right now she has plenty of time for, well, just being happy!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
