Winnie is cute and comical!

She's one of ten little Labs. Here they all are, the 'W' litter.
That's more a 'scatter' of puppies than a 'litter'!
We name our puppies after the alphabet, very much like the weather forecasters do with storms. Puppies are usually softer and cuddlier than storms though. Usually.
It didn't take long for us to realise that there was something special about Winnie.
Look at that little tum-tum! It's so cute!
It became apparent that Winnie looks cute in just about every pose.
Whether sleeping..
... sticking her tongue out...
.. or...
... yyyyyyyy...
... awwwwwwning!
That's better.
It's when we saw her sleeping with her namesake Winnie-the-Pooh toy that we went into cuteness overload and realised she had to be our new sponsor puppy.
So, why is Winnie cute?
Because she loves pulling the duvet off the sofa and wrapping herself up in it, then falls asleep all hot and snuggly.
Because she likes having her plump puppy tummy rubbed.
Because she adores being cuddled and fussed over.
And, well, because she looks cute!
She has a ridge along her nose that defines her little puppy face, and makes her look streamlined, like a high-speed train. You could even say she’s ‘Labradorable’.
So, what makes Winnie comical? Well, where do we begin?
She likes to steal slippers at any opportunity. She then tries to make her escape through the stairgate but unfortunately her bottom is too big, so she gets stuck halfway through and has to be rescued.
She runs around the house at top speed for no apparent reason. It’s like an on/off switch, no in-between. Around and around, up and down, to and fro. Talk about high-speed trains.
She tips her water bowl up and so the floor ends up soaked. She plays football, even though the ball is at least twice her size. She's so funny!
And, did we mention, cute?
One day, little Winnie will have a very important role: helping a deaf person to leave loneliness behind. She will do this by helping alert them to important sounds such as the baby monitor, and life-saving sounds like the fire alarm.
She will also help them by being their constant companion. Their constant, cude, cuddly, clever, comical companion!
We can't wait to see how her training journey ends. We hope you're excited about this too.
From all of us at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, thank you again for sponsoring Winnie!
