Winnie can sleep pretty much anywhere
Posted by Brendan Cooper
Yes, this Pupdate will be about Winnie finding interesting/unusual places to sleep.
However, let's start this one with her showing what a clever dog she is - having her harness put on with no trouble whatsoever.
This is a really important part of her training. In order to become an amazing hearing dog, Winnie needs to know so many things: how to come back when called, how to focus on the person she's with, settling nicely in public places, walking on her lead... and that's before even starting her soundwork training, where she learns how to alert deaf people to important sounds.
Another skill is how to allow her harness to be put on with no fuss. It's all part of being a good-natured, well-behaved Winnie who will be a problem to no one, and a joy to everyone.
So, by the looks of that video, she's a five-star superstar at the harness!
Do you want to see photos of Winnie being a five-star superstar snoozy pooch...?
Not yet! Here's more training!
Below, Liza is helping Winnie with her 'wait'.
This is how Winnie will be a good girl when she needs to be patient, for example after getting out of a car or waiting for the train. Liza will be saying 'Waaaait... waaaaaait...' to Winnie, and then moving away from her. All the time, Winnie's attention is firmly on Liza. And when she's completed the task, she'll get a treat and a fuss!
Ready for those snoozy photos yet...?
Let's see Winnie... opening a door!
No, that's not part of her training. That's just Winnie being clever!
Now, finally, those photos of Winnie sleeping...!
She likes to doze at the top of the stairs. This is soooooo convenient for her because she can see what's going on in the house. It's soooooo inconvenient for everyone else because they can't use the stairs!
Winnie also likes to sleep up against the door. Now, we might think this is a strange place to have a door, but for Winnie, it's perfect. Lovely warm wood!
If wood's warm, cardboard is wonderful! After Liza had unpacked a lot of new furniture, Winnie was delighted. Not with the new furniture, you understand, but with the massive amounts of cardboard for her to snooze on!
And after Winnie's opened the door...
Everyone loves Winnie. We're happy to end this Pupdate by showing you that she still has that funny ridge along her nose. It's quite unusual and gives her lots of character.
Sweet dreams Winnie!
We hope you liked this latest look at life with Winnie. She's doing really well, thanks to your kindness. So until next time, thank you for sponsoring Winnie!
