Winnie: Friends, gardening, snoozes, and a boopable nose

Posted by Brendan Cooper

We recently took a look through Winnie's journey, and noticed some distinct themes emerge.

She's a very friendly dog, with lots of puppy pals; she enjoys being in the garden; she does like a snooze - especially in the garden; and she has a very boopable nose indeed.

First, friends.

Winnie doesn't mind who she hangs out with.

Different breeds, colours, shapes, sizes, it's all good for Winnie.

Sometimes she likes to be friends with fellow Labs...

... other times it's just a one-on-one bit of fun with another furry friend...

... and sometimes she's happy with whoever will play with her!

She's such a sociable dog, happy around people and puppies, and one day this will make her a brilliant hearing dog, one that her future deaf partner will be very proud of.

Second, snoozes.

We've already told you all about how Winnie likes a doze, but we found more photos in the archives that bear us out!

She combines the sleep theme with the friends theme below. After all, what are friends for if you can't fall asleep next to (or under) them?

Even from a very early age, she liked to plonk herself down wherever and whenever the sleep urge took her, whether indoors...

... or outdoors.

As long as there's a sunny patch and some nice warm wood, that's perfect for a little black Lab! It also shows off how glossy and healthy she is.

As she grew, she started to vary her sleeping places.

They now range from being totally zonked out on some cushions...

... to spontaneously sleeping while travelling in the car...

... to having a well-earned rest in the garden.

All of which brings us very neatly to Winnie's next theme: gardening.

The shot above started like the one below, before she fell asleep.

But again, as with the sleeping, Winnie showed an affinity for plants and flowers at a very tender age.

Still, we're probably stretching this one a bit. She does like the garden, it's true, but mostly for... you guessed it... sleeping.

Finally, we've noticed that Winnie has an extremely boopable nose.

Boop!

Boop! Again!

Boop-be-doop.

And even more boopable in black and white.

We adore Winnie, and we hope you do too. Whether playing happily with friends, snoozing, snoozing with friends, snoozing, gardening, snoozing in the garden, or just snoozing, she's a lovely dog who will one day make a deaf person very happy.

Until that day... thank you so much again for sponsoring Winnie.

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
